IMMERSE TRIPS

Immerse trips were designed to have some extra time for each phase of the trip. Since we will be sleeping at the same campsite both nights, we can enjoy a more relaxed hiking pace - and take the time to immerse ourselves in the sunrise at the edge of Stratton Pond with our coffee in the morning. We will have the opportunity to hike shorter distances with our full packs, summit & descend Stratton Mountain with a lighter pack, & overall have a little bit more time to make ourselves available to the beauty that surrounds us.

This trip is appropriate for beginner-advanced

DAY 1

Stratton View Campsite

We will carry our full packs (approx25lbs) 4.5 miles/3 hrs hiking on a fairly flat trail (200ft elevation) from Stratton Pond Trail parking lot to Stratton View Campsite. Once there, we will set up camp, make & eat our backpacking meal and have an optional meditation after dinner on the edge of Stratton Pond. If the conditions are right, we can have a fire in the fire pit. As it gets dark, you can turn on your solar lantern (provided), climb into your tent, read/journal, or listen for the local loon or geese. Todays hike will include some trail meditation to maximize presence during our walk.

DAY 2

Summit Day

The next morning, after a leisurely breakfast and pond meditation, we will hike (with our lightened packs) & summit Stratton. (4 miles/1500ft elevation/3 hours). Option to climb the fire tower at the top & take in views of Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts & a whole host of epic ranges & peaks. We will enjoy our lunch under the trees on top of the mountain. On a warm, sunny day, we can kick back and watch the clouds slowly move across the sky. After lunch, we will hike back to our campsite, eat a hot meal, make a fire in the fire ring (if conditions are right), participate in the optional meditation or simply relax, read or journal.

DAY 3

Ease on Out

Day 3 is coffee & sunrise meditation on the pond (for those who want to get up early with me!), breakfast, pack-up our gear for the 4.5 mile hike south along the Stratton Pond Trail to our vehicles. On our way home, we will stop at one of my favorite Vermont Farm Stands where you can choose from an amazing assortment of baked goods and seasonal veggies or fruit for purchase to bring home (or snack on in the car) if you want.
